    Green Olympiad Examination 2016

    The Green Olympiad Examination 2016 (Tuesday, 30 August 2016)

    For Classes IV - X 

    Dear Parents,

    TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) is an independent, non-profit research institute focused on energy, environment and sustainable development devoted to efficient and sustainable use of natural resources. They have been conducting ‘Green Olympiad’ project in India and abroad since 1999.

    The examination is open to the students of classes IV-X as per the following levels:

    Level 1 (for students from classes IV & V)

    Level 2 (for students from classes VI - VIII)

    Level 3 (for students from classes IX & X)

    This is an excellent opportunity for students to put to test their Environment Quotient. Questions in this Olympiad are woven around environment issues and the sensitivity of the students to the environment. This quiz also aligns well with the spirit of CCE initiated by the CBSE.

    We are conducting this Olympiad in our school premises for students purely on a voluntary basis.

     

     The main features of the Green Olympiad are as follows:

    There is no prescribed syllabus for the exam. However questions asked will follow the MCQ format with no negative marking.

    If you wish your ward to appear for this Olympiad kindly download the consent form and submit the duly filled form to the class teacher, along with Rs.75/- cash in an envelope with the name & class of the child written on it, latest by 24 July, 2016.

      Microlite Flying - NCC Girls

      Dear Parent, 

                     Microlite flying is being organized for the NCC Cadets (Girls) by No. 2, Delhi (Girls) Air Sqn, NCC, B-6 Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi-29 at Air force station Hindan, Ghaziabad,UP on 20 July 2016. This is a rare opportunity for the NCC cadets of the School. Since your daughter is a member of NCC Air Wing of TAFS, she can attend microlite flying. Please encourage your ward to participate in this important event. 

      SCHEDULE 

      Ø  Reporting time at TAFS - 0545 hrs on 20th July 2016.

      Ø  Departure time from TAFS to Air force station Hindon – 0600 hrs.

      Ø  Students have to wear proper school uniform (Blue Uniform) with school ID card.

      Ø   Students can carry only their water bottles with them.

      Ø  The students will be taken to the Air force station Hindon accompanied by the school teacher.

      Ø  The students will come back to school after 1500 hrs.

      Ø  Mobiles, electronic gadgets and other valuables are strictly banned.

        The First Stage examination of all Olympiads will be conducted in the school premises during school hours. The registration fee/exam fee for EACH Olympiad is Rs 120 per student. If your child is interested in taking part, please send the consent form along with cheque separately for each Olympiad in the name of “The Air Force School” to the class teacher latest by 22th  July 2016(Friday). The cheque is to be enclosed in a sealed envelope along with consent form. Please write the following details on the back of the cheque: 

        1.   Name of the Olympiad

        2.   Admission Number

        3.   Student’s Name

        4.   Student’s Class & Section

        SOF is providing workbooks for each Olympiad at a cost of Rs 60/- (each book) for preparation of these Olympiads. If interested, kindly add Rs 60/- per book to the registration fee cheque. 

        If your child is appearing in the NCO, NSO & IMO it is advisable to get a combined workbook at a cost Rs 150/- (Reasoning essentials book (Cyber, Science and Math)) and add this amount to registration fee cheque of any one Olympiad only. Purchase of workbooks is not mandatory. 

        Medals will be awarded to toppers & participation certificate along with Performance Analysis Report will be provided to every student. 

        Participation in these Olympiads is not compulsory.

          All details to be filled in black ink & in CAPITAL LETTERS.

          Stamp size photograph of your child in school uniform (Black and White) clearly indicating the name of the student along with the date of taking photograph.

          The completed forms are handed over to Class Teachers by Wednesday, 20 July 2016.
           
          Registration fee  will be added in the school fee for the next quarter.

As children encounter emotional, social, and physical challenges or conflicts; a dedicated and intentional yoga practice that includes breathing techniques, behavioral guidelines, and physical postures can be incredibly valuable for them.

                    The Times of India: Student Subscription (2016-17)

                    CIRCULAR TO PARENTS

                    THE TIMES OF INDIA, STUDENT SUBSCRIPTION (2016-17)

                    Dear Parents,

                    The new academic session 2016 –2017 has started.  We at TAFS strive to actualize the potential of our students by constantly encouraging them to redefine their capabilities.

                    Providing newspaper is one such endeavor on our part to give the young minds a global platform to update their information bank, re-invent themselves by writing for the paper and participate in a host of competitive programs. Following the tradition of the previous academic session, we have decided to subscribe ‘The Times of India’, student edition (NIE) in the present academic session also.  The subscription amount per student is Rs 275/- for a duration of six months which will be payable by cheque, drawn in favour of ‘The Air Force School’

                     The membership also includes a host of activities like writing for the paper, workshops, industrial visits and competitions which will be spread across the entire session.

                    Newspapers not only give us information but improve our reading skills along with becoming an important learning tool.  Please encourage your ward to subscribe the newspaper.

                    The membership is open to classes IV & V (Primary Wing) and VI – XI (Senior wing).  The membership is optional.  Last date for giving the consent is 15 July 2016. No requests for membership will be entertained after 15 July 2016.

                    Note: - NIE membership is voluntary. Membership fee will be paid by cheque, drawn in favor of ‘The Air Force School’. Subscribers from the junior wing will submit the consent form along with the cheque for the subscription amount to their respective class teachers and subscribers from the senior wing will submit the consent form along with the cheque for the subscription amount to their respective English teachers.

                    For registering yourself as the NIE member, either take the printout of the consent form given below or just copy it and submit along with the cheque.

                    Parents are requested to enter their ward’s name, class and section, admission no and phone no, on the reverse side of the cheque carefully to avoid confusion.
