An educational excursion, to the Jim Corbett National Park, was organized for the students of classes IV & V from 30 Sep - 03 Oct 2014. 99 students accompanied by 11 teachers participated in this exciting trip.

Starting the journey on 30 Sep, at 10:00 pm, the excursion group travelled in A/C coaches and reached the Samsara Resort, at 7:00 am on 01 Oct 2014. Nice comfortable rooms and a sumptuous breakfast awaited them at the resort. After resting for some time the group visited the Corbett Tiger Reserve Museum, where they were thrilled to see the specimens of tigers, pictures and maps of the Reserve. In the afternoon  they took part in adventurous activities like Flying Fox and Rappelling. After having enjoyed a bonfire and DJ in the evening, the group watched a documentary movie on the wildlife at the Corbett Reserve. They had a nourishing dinner before retiring for the day.

On 02 Oct, after breakfast and some adventurous activities, the excursion group visited Chhoti Haldwani, where they participated in a guided tour of Jim Corbett Museum, which was also his residence. Everyone got a glimpse of the model village set up there by Corbett. In the afternoon everyone set out on jeep safari, into the forest. The awesome jungle and the sighting of various wild animals and birds added to the adventure. The most exciting part, although, was the sighting of fresh tiger tracks!

The excursion group started the return journey at 10:00 pm and reached the school early morning, on 03 Oct 2014. Apart from communing with nature the children experienced the camp life and learned to look after themselves, in the absence of their family members. This trip also provided them with an opportunity to learn many important life skills too.
