Inter House Activity: Solo Singing & Instrumental Music

INTER HOUSE ACTIVITY

SOLO (SINGING) & INSTRUMENTAL (MUSIC)

The year came to an end with sweet musical notes of Inter House Activity – Solo (Singing) and Instrumental (Music) in two categories VI-VIII and IX-XI on Monday, 28th December 2015 in the Aravali Hall at TAFS

The participants of every house mesmerized the audience with sweet melodies and creating musical rhythm with different chords and beats. The atmosphere became musical in the real sense of the word.

The judges for the event were Ms Deepika Thapar Singh, Principal TAFS and Mr Rohit Kumar Sharma, Vocal Music Teacher, TAFS. The result of the competition is as follows:

    60th SPORTS DAY ‘KHEL UTSAV’

    The Air Force School celebrated its 60th Sports Day – Vasudha- The Terrains –on 19 December 2015.

    The sports ground at TAFS reverberated with the enthusiastic sounds of drills, march past and relays under the warmth of the winter sun. This celebration was the culmination of the year round sporting activities. The Chief Guest for the event was Air Marshal BBP Sinha AVSM Air Officer-in- Charge Administration & Chairman, Board of Governors. Mrs.Divya Sinha and other esteemed guests graced the occasion with their presence.

    The event witnessed hundred percent participation from Junior School with the heartwarming drills by the little ones- all creating a strong bond between ‘man’ and ‘vasudha’, in the form of  Wondrous Waters, The Panoramic Plateaus, The Plentiful Plains, The Daunting Deserts and The Majestic Mountains. Each drill transported the enraptured viewers to the bountiful landscape of our country.Other highlights of the day were the Sports report – read out proudly by the school’s Sports Captains, march past where each house- Subroto, Arjan, Latif, Katre and Pratap vied for the first position as they marched in crisp synchronization to the tune of the school band along with NCC cadets.

    Speaking on the occasion, Air Marshal Sinha commented on the importance of sports as a means of physical growth. He said that sports give the winning habits to be successful in society and children off internet and T V. Congratulating the Principal and staff of The Air Force School, he remarked that TAFS is providing ample opportunities for building a firm foundation by redefining success as more than winning or losing a game and providing all possible facilities to its students for wholesome growth. He especially appreciated the participation of girls.

    In her welcome address, the Principal, Mrs Deepika Thapar Singh said that sports give hope where there is despair. Ma’am said that sports are more powerful than any government to break down racial barriers.

    Mrs Divya Sinha gave away the prizes to the winners.As the grounds resounded with the proud cheering of the winners; TAFS geared itself for the next year’s sporting activities.

      CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS- JUNIOR WING

      A special assembly was conducted to celebrate Christmas, in the Junior Wing, in the morning of 23 Dec 2015. A Christmas skit put up by class V students, conveyed the message of the spirit of Christmas- sharing and togetherness. The students of UKG performed the ‘Christmas Tree Dance’, ‘The Star’ dance and ‘Reindeer Dance’. Every body joined the school choir in singing the Christmas carols. The school christmas tree was decorated and the buntings made by children were displayed all over the school building. Father Christmas also made a short visit to the school and interacted with the children with his universal message of love and brotherhood. Children also pledged to share with the less privileged what they have, be it toys, dresses they have outgrown, books or stationary items.

        The Social Science Department conducted ‘On the spot Poster Making Competition’ on 10th December 2015. The venue for the competition was Activity Hall.  The students of class VI participated in this competition (10 students from each of the five sections).

        The students displayed great enthusiasm and brought out their creative best.

        The Topics given for the Poster Making Competition were :-

        1.   Monuments of Delhi

        2.   Clean City Green City

          NUKKAD NATAK

          CLASS – X

          EVS Club conducted an activity of ‘Nukkad Natak’ on the topic ‘SWACHCHTA’ for Class – X, on 4th December 2015.  Five-seven students in a group from each section of Class – X performed the activity wherein they presented the importance of cleanliness in our lives.  Various illustrations on the theme were explored relating the significance and prevalence to keep our home and surroundings clean for a healthy environment.  The concept was thoroughly presented.
