The workshop was conducted separately for boys and girls by the school counsellor. Through various videos and activities children were sensitized and empowered to protect and value their body. Girls were also sensitized about puberty, menstrual health and hygiene. An open platform was provided to children to discuss their queries and talk about personal safety. Children had a detailed discussion which helped them in creating a firm understanding of their safety and respecting their own and someone else’s body. They were also helped to identify trusted adults in their vicinity and various myths regarding incidents of sexual abuse were resolved. The workshop provided an empowering experience to children with regard to their safety and well being.
