TUX Paint Competition

CLASS-IV TUX PAINT COMPETITION

A TuxPaint Competition was organized for the students of class IV in two phases. The first round was conducted on 24th to 26th October 2016 on the topic: ‘Park’. The second round was conducted on the topic ‘Create a Story’ on 28th October 2016.

The students showed great creativity and came up with excellent ideas. Not only did they incorporate many facets of the topic, but also used different features of Tux Paint like- Stamps, shapes, Brushes etc, to make their presentations commendable.

    CCE Activity - 27 Oct 2016

    CD DECORATION  CCE ACTIVITY 

    The activity for classes VI-X, included CD decoration and CD Rangoli making in a unique form using CD’s.

    This was an innovative activity that used creative energies of each child to come up with new designs, floral patterns, faces of cartoons, sparkles decorative items as themes for CD decoration.

    The pattern these children created, were geometric, and very attractive to be used in the upcoming festive season. The students hence learnt the craft of how discarded CD’s can be used in such a beautiful manner.

    The CD rangolis were colourful and pleasant, as students put in much effort to create these pieces of exquisite decoration, using beads, threads, sparkles, paints etc., making it an enjoyable activity.

      ANTI CRACKER 
      POSTER MAKING CCE ACTIVITY

      With Diwali nearing the weekend, the activity planned for the day was Anti cracker poster making. Students used their craft and knowledge to raise awareness posters against use of crackers, air pollution and the hazards of bursting crackers.

      The variety of posters ranged from small pamphlets, to big posters, painted and coloured to ensure crackers aren’t used at Diwali.

      Earth being polluted, along with saying no to cracker banners, were made by students who seemed aware of The joy of Diwali with diyas and lights.

          DIWALI STREAMERS CCE ACTIVITY

           

          The Students Today had to make beautiful Diwali streamers which are wall and ceiling hangings that are used for the festive season.

          The students used glazed sheets, colorful chart papers, decorative items, sparkles and thread to prepare creative crafts in the form of Diwali streamers that are joined together to make a pattern. The streamers were short, tall, circular, and filled with various geometrical designs to make them appealing.

          The array of streamers were colorful in nature, and extremely attractive, with various designs being arranged atop them.

          Students enjoyed the activity as an introduction to the Diwali weekend, making it a happy activity for them to perform.

            Annual Prize Distribution : IX-XII 2015-16

            ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION : IX-XII 2015-16

            The second round of Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 22 Oct 2016 in the Aravali Hall. A total of 114 students were awarded prizes in both scholastic and co-scholastic subjects. The guests of honour Air Commodore AK Misra VSM Principal Director (Schools, Adventure and Sports) and Chairman, Managing Committee Air Force Schools and Mrs Kamini Misra gave away the prizes.

            Principal Mrs Amita Gupta gave the welcome address. She congratulated the meritorious students and emphasized the need for focused handwork and a disciplined approach in life.

            The programme started with lighting of the lamp and recitation of shlokas. A group song sung by the school choir set the tone of the programme. Kathak fusion dance which followed made the audience gasp in wonder.

            Air Commodore AK Misra Sir, then addressed the august gathering. He felicitated the student on their success, encouraging them to give their best. He motivated them to continue working but to remain humble and not let arrogance creep in. He emphasized the need to inculcate good values. He also felicitated Mrs Lomina Rajiv Middle School Coordinator for being awarded the State Teacher award 2016.

            The programme ended with a vote of thanks given by Mrs Lomina Rajiv. The entire gathering stood up to sing the Air Force Schools’ song with pride.

              Closing Ceremony of Subroto Cup

              AEROBICS DRILL  AT THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF SUBROTO CUP FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT - 22 OCT 2016


              69 students of class V presented an impressive aerobic drill on mix instrumental music, bringing high power energy into the field, during the closing ceremony of the Subroto Cup Football Tournament 2016, on 22 Oct 2016.

              The children, dressed in red, purple and green track suits, wearing matching capes and caps and holding golden pompoms  performed scintillating aerobic moves  and  captured  the imagination of the audience. The children were also greatly inspired by the presence of the legendary football player from Brazil, Rivaldo, who was watching them perform.

                ENERGY CONSERVATION POSTER MAKING

                A State level poster making event was held for students of class VII-IX, where the children were enlisted the following topics:

                • Energy conservation in Today’s world.
                • Smart cities globally
                • Save Solar, Go Polar

                The competition is a part of Power Finance corporation event, which is a state organisation that works towards educating students about solar energy, awareness on smart cities and Energy conservation in the world.

                The students used immense talent to create beautiful and meaningful posters which depicted the message of energy utility very well using paints, colours, portraits of the city, solar energy and various posters on how earth can be saved.

                The students used their creative efforts to make the most of this socially aware topic.



                MADHUBANI FOLDERS

                Students of class X prepared Madhubani folders and Folk life folders that depicted abstract designs, animal life, motif, patterns and various Madhubani ethnic art.

                The students gave the folders, intricate designs and colorful shapes to fully make them very interesting.

                These folders were an example of good art work, and excellent pattern making. The students of class X utilised their ability to create a diversity of ideas inspired from village life of the country, to decorate the folders.

                  THE CCE CONSUMER COLLAGE MAKING

                  The consumer awareness activity today was a CCE craft making collage that involved various advertisements as a consumer.

                  The rights of each citizen, the products that are upcoming and the duties as a responsible citizen/customer, are displayed in a poster by students.

                  They made use of newspapers, articles and pastings of products, consumer rights to raise awareness as citizens.

                  The students also used advertisements to create awareness about how ads dupe customers or how a good advertisement looks like, which makes people look upto it and take notice as a customer.

                  The ads and collages ranged from products to sports, consumer rights to government initiatives.

                    MATHS COMMERCIAL ART CCE ACTIVITY

                     

                    The students today are a part of an interesting mathematical and numerical poster making activity, where the students learn to analyse MRP, discounts, percentages, statistics etc to create AD’s and posters on mathematical operations or symbols.

                    The commercial art topic included students pasting wrappers, advertisements, discount ads ,any maths related graphs and data, to be shown creatively in the colorful poster format.

                    The students used symbols of discounts, percentages, addition, subtraction and even created why maths is fun, as part of the posters.

                    They learnt the use of maths in everyday things, and how they represent mathematical data in a creative informative way.

                      The students of class VI-VIII had the activity of best out of waste, which has always been an innovative initiative to make use/reuse of any waste material and create a new invention.

                      The students made creative picnic baskets, folders, penholders, photo frames and table coasters. They used a variety of decorative materials to create the crafts.

                      CLASS X on the same day, had an innovative activity on stick puppet making and creating poem characters using Ice cream sticks and posters.

                      Students made various characters ranging from animals to flowers, trees and English literature characters. This lended a sense of animation to each stick puppet.

                      It was a novel idea, that saw an enthusiastic reply from all students.

                        BOOK COVERS AND QUOTE WRITING ACTIVITY 

                        The students today were engaged in a creative and literature activity with book cover making and Quote writing. The students had to make covers, of their favourite authors or create new book covers with their own imagination.

                        It was a part of an English based activity and involved students drawing various pretty book covers, with motivational quotes and writings. Students drew inspiration from their own textbooks of wimpy kid, harry potter, movie and cartoon characters.

                        Children used their efforts to create authors and publishing houses using their own ideas. They learnt about character building in a story and how the stories turn up in a novel format.

                        The activity saw a diverse set of ideas in drawing, cartoon making, novel style understanding and literature knowledge.

                          ( NDTV SAFETY SCIENCE QUIZ)

                          UL and NDTV conducted the first biggest National Safety Science Quiz NSSQ 2016.The main aim was to popularize safety science through informal modes and inspire school students for a safer India. 20 students from our school participated in the online quiz held between 29 August 2016 and 2 Sept 2016. The two top scorers HUIDROM TANYUT of XI –D and MANVI GOEL of X-D qualified for the Zonal level which was held on 4th October 2016 at the Amity International School, Pushp Vihar. It was a great exposure and created awareness amongst students about the safety measures to be used in day to day life.

                            HERITAGE QUIZ & WARLI ART

                            An interesting Heritage Quiz was created by teachers of classes VI-IX highlighting historical facts, details and civilisations. The Quiz was based on a child's ability to locate open text answers and find out how to link Questions to various answers in their textbooks.

                            The aim of the heritage quiz was to make students think about social studies in a time based quiz game format, so that they enjoy seeking answers to questions pertaining to geography, history and politics.

                            The variety of questions was simple ranging from harappan civilisation to Indus valley and various rulers with their historic backgrounds.

                            The students had 30 questions uploaded on the smartboards, Each requiring attention and time frame. After which the answer key was discussed to apprise them about the way of writing the answer.

                            Class IX was involved in warli art and craft, that was an interesting stick art drawing, with children using colors and decorations, to highlight festivals and celebrations among village life.

                              DUSSEHRA SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

                              The students of classes IA and IB presented a  special morning assembly  on ‘Dussehra’ on 7 Oct. 2016. Dressed up in a variety of colourful costumes and dresses, the children presented a short skit depicting the significance of Dussehra and the victory of good over evil. The choir  of little singers sang melodious songs and wowed the audience. The garba dance presented by them also added to the festivities. All the students of these classes participated in this presentation with great gutso and excitement.

                                ATHLETIC EVENTS  CLASSES UKG-II HELD ON  6 OCT. 2016


                                Excitement and fun prevailed in the junior wing on 6 Oct. as the students of classes UKG-II participated in athletic events setting the tracks on fire!  Amidst much cheering and clapping, 50m flat races were held for the students of classes I-II and 30m flat races for UKG. The little ones of UKG were unstoppable as they ran the 30 m flat race. The final result is as follows:

                                    WARLI ART –CCE ACTIVITY

                                    Warli art is a unique drawing that involves stick figures, tribal life and depicting society using minimalistic lines. The drawings may include, dancing, festivals, celebrations and customs of village life and people.

                                    The children looked at various examples and created beautiful warli art hangings and images. They drew dances, rituals and happy stick drawings to represent Indian elements.

                                    The drawings involved paint colors, vibrant color block prints, patterns and movement of stick images to showcase a happy society of nomadic people.

                                    A variety of warli art figures were represented on folders and hangings by the students that displays their ability to turn simple life art into creative posters showcasing celebrative spirit.

                                      VI-VII : TEXT ART

                                      Students of class VI-VII were engaged in Text art, as part of CCE activities, where the children had to use their creativity and make pictures using alphabets, to symbolise a theme.

                                      The activity was done beautifully by the young minds,as they made a variety of posters on text art,ranging from animals,to nature,festivals to landscapes.Students made Paris as a symbol of peace along with various students making animals,trees and food items depicting their favourite ideas.

                                      Students used their creativity with colors and craft,to showcase their talent with brushes and painting of text art.

                                      The young students enjoyed the new form of art & learnt a new way of drawing themes using this concept.



                                      IX-X : POSTER MAKING ACTIVITY 

                                      EVS CLUB

                                      The students of class IX-X were engrossed in an interesting inter class event of Poster making on Depression – Let’s Talk. The students used slogans, Life skills, colors, themes and potraits to beat depression. Student depicted society and how people feel.

                                      A positive note of ending depression was conveyed by the posters and various society images were made very vividly by the students showcasing emotions.

                                      It was a good activity showing good creativity and craft by senior school students. They showed their understanding of the concept through posters.

                                        Heritage Walks - Classes III-V

                                        HERITAGE WALKS- CLASSES III-V (26 SEP – 04 OCT 2016)

                                        In order to create awareness about our rich cultural heritage, history and traditions ‘Heritage Walks’ were organized, for the students of classes III – V, from 26 Sep to 04 Oct 2016. Keeping in mind the significance of including museums and monuments as rich sources of learning about our heritage, we make outdoor and experiential learning an important part of our curriculum.

                                        Prior to each ‘Heritage Walk’ an orientation session was conducted by the teachers in their classes, through power point presentations and activities. The visit was followed by an interactive discussion in school the next day where the children did worksheets related to their ‘Heritage Walk’ and shared interesting insights and their experiences.

                                         

                                        CLASS III- VISIT TO CRAFTS MUSEUM, PRAGATI MAIDAN (28 & 29 SEP 2016)

                                        The children of class III visited the crafts museum to learn about various types of art and crafts of India. They learnt about pottery, saw potter’s wheel, loom machine and also saw various handmade wooden toys. They acquired knowledge about various kinds of embroidery patterns of different states, at this prestigious museum. They also saw an exhibition on ‘Textiles of Chiapas’, Mexico. Children enjoyed the audio- visual presentation on ‘Wooden crafts of India’ and performances by artists of Orissa. They also did an art activity in which they drew WORLI designs made on the walls of the museum. They had a pleasant time appreciating the rich heritage of country.


                                        CLASS IV- VISIT TO HAUZ KHAS COMPLEX (26 & 27 SEP 2016)

                                        ‘Hauz Khas’ literally translates into ‘royal water tank’ and the main attraction there is the huge water reservoir. The Hauz Khas complex houses the Madrasa, a small mosque, the main tomb and six dome shaped pavilions.

                                        The students enjoyed the trip a lot and they learned about the technology that existed so many years back, in terms of water conservation and manmade 'cool' buildings which were well lit and ventilated. It was indeed a pleasure for the students to have witnessed first-hand, India’s living history in the form of such grand monuments. The students’ curiosity was satiated by the well written information boards which were kept near each of the monuments. Children immensely gained from this educationally and culturally rich programme.

                                         

                                        CLASS V- VISIT TO GANDHI SMRITI (30 SEP & 04 OCT 2016)

                                        “My life is my message” – is what the children noticed first when they entered the Gandhi Smriti. These words spoken by the Mahatma were engraved on a sculpture at the museum which is housed in the Birla House where Gandhiji spent the last 144 days of his life. The children saw the Martyr’s Column erected there in remembrance of the spot where Gandhiji was assassinated. The children were awestruck to learn about the Mahatma’s great but simple life and eagerly read the information displayed in different areas there. They also made notes of their observations and later discussed them in class. This Heritage Walk gave the children the unique experience of knowing the Mahatma deeply and closely as well as teaching an invaluable lesson about the essence of Gandhiji’s principles.

                                          The school organized a puppet show on 4th October 2016 in collaboration with Happy Hands Foundation and Public Health Foundation of India, for class VI as part of Youth Arts, Community and Transformation Campaign (Youth Act).

                                          A team of ten puppeteers performed two shows on the topic ‘Importance of using Toilets’ and ‘Don’t throw litter in Public Areas.’

                                          The students were spellbound and were engrossed in colourful show of beautiful puppets. It inspired the students to understand the values of cleanliness and hygiene.
