64th ANNUAL DAY (2019-2020)
The Air Force School celebrated its 64th Annual Day on 07 November 2019. It was a memorable moment as the school paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi commemorating his 150th birth anniversary, marking the stupendous celebration.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria PVSM AVSM VM ADC Chief of the Air Staff, expressed his appreciation of the flawless event titled, ‘Praharsh- the River of Joy’. He remarked that the time spent and values imbibed at school will help students in character building and personality development.
Mrs Asha Bhaduaria, President AFWWA (Central), gave away the prizes to the students for academic and co-curricular achievements.
The evening started after the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The melodious tunes played by the school band ‘Avartan’ enthralled the guests.
The art and sculpture exhibition, titled ‘Pragdhara-the Classical Legacy’, showcased the theme of ‘Praharsh- the River of Joy’. The exhibits crafted from waste material, depicted the prehistoric times, the art of the medieval era and the contemporary art scenes.
Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. This was translated into reality by the instrumentalists of TAFS through their mellifluous composition titled ‘Samanvay-the Resonating Euphoria’.
The welcome dance was titled ‘Abhinandanam’ was a joyful greeting of the guests by the junior school students. The choral cadences titled ‘Anuranjanam - Anthem of Ecstasy’, gave the message that music can fill one with joy and facilitate emotional conciliation.
The most spectacular event of the evening was the dance drama celebrating a soul stirring message, the beauty of contentment, a panoramic view of the myriad of ways in which we can learn to be happy, if we want to be happy, learn to tie it to a goal, not to people or objects. For happiness, one size does not fit all.
In her address, the Principal, Mrs. Amita Gupta, said that at TAFS, the effort is concentrated to not just achieve academic excellence but instill a strong value system, the courage to accept responsibility, the integrity to admit mistakes and the empathy to contribute towards the betterment of the society.
The evening ended with Vote of Thanks presented by the Vice Principal, Mrs. Lomina Rajiv, followed by the National Anthem.
