A Departmental Activity was conducted by the Mathematics Department on 12th April , 2018, Thursday . The topic of the activity was MATHEMATICAL 3D SHAPE MAKING.

A net is a flattened out three dimensional solid. It is the basic skeleton outline in two dimensions which can be folded and glued together to obtain a 3D structure. Students of class VII enthusiastically participated in the activity. They showed great interest and creativity in making various 3D shapes using the net provided to them. They showcased an excellent teamwork by working together in groups. Students traced the 3D shape with the help of NET provided to them on an OHP sheet and created the 3D shapes using cutting, folding and pasting method. Children also used various decorative materials to decorate the 3D shape. This activity helped them to learn about 3D shapes, their faces, edges and vertices and also developed their kinesthetic skills.

Best 5 3D shapes were selected. The shapes were made by

                                              ENGLISH EXHIBITION

On 27th March 2018, the Final Result Day of Academic Session 2017-2018, an English Exhibition was organised by the students of TAFS Junior Wing in the school premises. The preparation for the exhibition had begun well in advance with the students participating enthusiastically and learning new expressions along the way. The endeavour proved successful in its purpose of creating and enhancing deeper interest and understanding of the universal language. It provided enrichment of comprehension and helped in vocabulary building for not just the children, but the parents too, who appreciated the efforts and enjoyed the activities.

Class I set up a Fairy Tales show with The Three Little Pigs, The Rainbow Fish and Rapunzel.

Class II delved into Parts of Speech in Grammar showcasing nouns, adjectives, verbs and prepositions.

Class III  introduced The World of Roald Dahl by putting a Spotlight on the much loved author and presented some of his famous works in beautiful illustrations made by the children along with some meaningful quotes of the author like, “Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”

Class IV decided to test the visitors by their Spot the Synonyms activity and Role Play of characters from the 14th to 16th Century morality play on love, peace, death and justice.

Class V brought to life eight unforgettable poets of past and present like Shakespeare and Wordsworth, Keats and Blake, Christina Rossetti and Robert Frost and Ruskin Bond and Ogden Nash. Student volunteers of Class V recited verses of these poets with great fervour. The “Point a Poet” Spin wheel attracted many visitors to try their hand and claim a poetic bookmark made by the children as a takeaway. There was also a “What’s the Word” Crossword puzzle activity. The two “Poetrees” at the entrance had Acrostic poems on various trees written by children, hanging on them.

Though a modest exhibition, it was an amazing array of literary knowledge and language skills.
