INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATIONS- JUNIOR SCHOOL (21 JUNE 2022)
Keeping up with the determination to design a life style for the overall well being the young TAFSians of classes 3-5 celebrated the International Yoga Day with great gusto. They participated in an online Yoga session, with a trainer, along with their family members making it a happy and healthy family event.
The instructor Mr Vineet began the session by explaining the term Yog which means addition of individual soul with God. This short session not only helped create greater awareness about various benefits of practicing Yoga for good health but also made children realise that it can be fun too. Along with the trainer the children did sitting and standing asanas, Pranamasana that everybody can practice almost every day at home and many postures that help ease the nervous system and give better balance to the body.
They enthusiastically showcased Tadasana, Vrikshasana (Tree pose) etc that bring balance and equilibrium to the body, enhance concentration and strengthen the hips, legs, back and arms. They also practised various breathing techniques 'Pranayam' which help in improving sleep quality and better functioning of lungs.
Children were motivated to practice yoga as a daily routine and they promised to continue to strive to make their lifestyle healthy and happy.
