VIRTUAL MUSEUM TOUR ( JR WING)

VIRTUAL MUSEUM TOUR ( JR WING)

BY Kiran nadAr Museum

When a field trip is out of the question, a virtual tour comes as a saviour!

A class field trip to a museum can spark intense student interest as well as nurture and foster thinking skills. While nothing can replace the experience of an in-person museum tour, experiencing a high-quality virtual museum tour has its own advantages!

A virtual museum tour not only allows students to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of art halls, artists and their aesthetic and unique work, but also helps a larger number of students to join these trips. Keeping this in mind, a museum tour was planned for classes III-V on 20 Sept. 2021 with Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA).

The tour guide from KNMA took the audience on a 3D virtual tour of their art collections giving everyone a 360° view of the museum’s galleries. The students were awestruck as they moved virtually through corridors and rooms of the museum. The tour guide pointed out the fine points about the various artists, paintings, sketches, artwork, and sculptures, and also shared exciting stories behind each exhibit.

More than 500 enthusiastic and keen students, and their teachers joined in this unique tour. They not only learnt about the passion, grit, and perseverance of the artists in their field of work, but also how practise can make anyone perfect!

It was a wonderful experience, very much like the real one!

    POLKA DOTS DAY-CLASS UKG

    POLKA DOTS DAY-CLASS UKG (21 SEP 2021)

Our kindergartners celebrated Polka Dot Day on 21st September 2021, in their online classes. Polka dot is a pattern consisting of an array of large filled circles of the same size. Polka dots are commonly seen on children's clothing, toys, furniture, ceramics and Central European folk art. To create awareness about this art, to develop fine motor skills and let them have a fun filled time with their friends and teachers, this activity was organised for our students on 21 Sep 2021.

The tiny tots of UKG looked vibrant in their Polka Dot dresses and accessories like head bands, hair clips, scarves etc. The children came up with innovative ideas, pasting temporary paper dots and 'bindis' on their dresses, hairbands and other accessories. They also exhibited their talent while making beautiful lady bugs . Bugs are beautiful, especially the colorful polka-dot bugs! While decorating their bugs with polka dots of different colours they practiced counting and sorting too! They also used different variety of leaves with the bug which enhanced the beauty of their craft.

Looking at the tiny tots flaunting their polka dots was a feast for the eyes . They danced to the tunes of different action songs. It was a fun filled activity thoroughly enjoyed by our young TAFSians.

CLAY MODELLING AND RANGOLI ACTIVITY- UKG (14 Sep 2021)

Clay modelling is a therapeutic activity that helps children in several ways. The touch and feel of clay have a natural relaxing quality. Pressing, squeezing & reshaping the clay into different shapes improves a child's fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, creativity & attention span. Our kindergartners participated in a virtual clay modelling activity with great enthusiasm, organised for them on 14 Sep 2021.

They showcased their talent & celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi with zeal and zest by making beautiful ecofriendly idols of GANPATI BAPPA & mouth drooling modaks with clay.

The activity also helped in learning the importance of festivals and the feeling of oneness while celebrating it.

Our budding artists made beautiful rangolis & showed their art and craft talents using concentric circles,  flowers and filling the designs with crayons. It was indeed a treat to the eyes watching our kids enjoy this activity.

It was very much clear by the PowerPoint Presentation because it had texts and images too. And at last some of the questions were answered but some left because of the lack of time. FINE LINER ART WORKSHOP ( JR WING)

FINE LINER ART WORKSHOP ( JR WING)

              By Kiran Nadar Museum

In the beginning it was all black and white……

The basis for all drawings is the line. Straight, curved, diagonal, vertical or horizontal, there are many ways to draw lines in any art presentation. By combining these lines in different ways, you can add texture, give the impression of volume, and even create shadows.

Keeping the theme as black and white, a workshop on ‘Fine Liner Monochromatic Art’ was conducted virtually by Kiran Nadar Museum on 04 September 2021. The students learnt how to make a beautiful art piece with only a fine black liner pen & black water colour. No other colours were to be used.

More than 160 students of classes 4 and 5 participated with full enthusiasm in learning this interesting art technique.
