Christmas Celebrations - Junior School

Christmas Celebrations - Junior School (Classes UKG- II)

Christmas celebrations help in ending the year in a joyous manner. Children look forward to the festival with a lot of excitement and eagerness. Christmas celebrations were held in the Jr School from 21 to 23 December on the virtual platform. Jingles were played in the online classes as the children sang along dressed in the colours of Christmas. The hues of red, white and green splashed across the screens. The children looked like miniature Santa Clauses in their tiny red caps. They also watched videos on traditional Christmas stories. Some of the students proudly showed the Christmas trees at home, which they had decorated with their parents.

The students of Class UKG exuberantly made snowman on their activity sheets. They couldn’t contain their joy as they decorated it with cotton balls and buttons. They also had an oration activity in which they spoke about the significance of the Christmas Festival.

The students of Class 1 made Christmas trees and snowman to depict a white Christmas. They listened raptly to the Christmas stories told by their teachers.

The students of Class 2 started each day of the week listening to Christmas Carols. In the Art class they made their favourite Father Christmas and decorated his red and white costume with pieces of cloth and cotton. Some of the children sang carols with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.

Virtual Khel Utsav 2021- Junior School

Virtual Khel Utsav 2021- Junior School

Tommy Lasorda, American baseball player, now a coach said,   ‘’The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.’’

To us at TAFS, that is Adhishtthan (clwi7fg), from the Buddhist language of Pali (kfnL) which translates our resolution- the tenacity wins!

According to Buddhism, Adhishtthan is one's resolve to become fully awakened and aware. So we are!

Just like Buddha, Gandhi, Kalam, Tendulkar or any other self-driven individual achiever, we too are on the path of survival, with determination to live to the best of our ability, doing what we are capable of, and in the process, learning to be a little more perfect with each challenge put before us.

As time goes on and we continue adapting to the ever changing situation, we presented again, on 11 December 2021, the second virtual sports day, our Khel Utsav, with more innovation and determination. We call it Adhishtthan, our determination, to continue, not give up, to build strength and courage, and have faith, hope and patience for better times ahead. We at TAFS believe we are extraordinary enough to be doing things the way we do.

So here we go again, with all our pride, bringing to you our Adhishtthan, the virtual Khel Utsav, with 100% participation, each class performing interesting feats with incredible determination.

Our tiny tots of Class UKG, are The Unicorns, magical and mystical in pink and black costumes. Don’t miss the headgear.

The busy buzzing Bumble Bees of Class 1 in yellow and black created a flurry of activity.

Class 2 showed us how jawsome and joyful these little Sharks can be in their bright blue costumes and white mittens.

Class 3 took everyone on a spin with their Swish and Swash Ribbon Dance and made us sway to the beats.

Class 4 showed us that Sun or Rain, We Dance Again with their colourful Umbrella Dance.

As smart as smart can be, Class 5 did the Backpack Dance- Backpacking our way, Onward we go!

Again the costumes and accessories were resourcefully planned and the props were all made at home with help from parents and guided by the art and craft teachers.

A video recording of well practiced individual sports activities was sent by each child to their Class Teacher. These activities achieved the objective of regular physical exercise and active health of body and mind.

Addressing the parents and students on this occasion, Principal ma’am lauded the efforts of all involved in creating another successful achievement. Ma’am emphasized the true meaning of Addhishtthan and urged everyone to imbibe the tenacity to win, whatever be the challenge.

CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (CLASSES 3-5)

            ‘With caring comes courage’

A virtual sensitization drive about, ‘International day of Persons with Disabilities’ was conducted for students of classes III to V, during their online classes from 04 Dec to 07 Dec 2021. The students indulged in various activities to make people with special needs feel accepted & celebrated. The aim behind this initiative was to enlighten the spirit of inclusion amongst young minds.

We at TAFS have been striving to bring out a positive change in the lives of people who are in need of care and protection. Such endeavours are laying a firm ground for development of empathy, affection and unconditional positive regard among our students. As a part of this sensitization drive, students achieved an insight about the varied abilities of differently abled people. The enthusiastic minds of TAFS whole heartedly participated in the planned activities. Through the posters created by students, not only their imaginative side was seen, but also their unconditional positive regard was reflected.

It was a profound experience for students and they were empowered enough to understand that people with disability are very much like us and their abilities speak louder than their disability.
