Art@Thon-Celebrating the Art Education Week-Class X
The Air Force School celebrated the Art@Thon Week, from 12 to 16 October 2020. The event was conducted under the guidance of the teachers of the Art Education Department. This week-long gala was devoted to encouraging and inspiring the young learners to exhibit their skills at the visual and performing arts.
The students of Class X took part in five different tasks, based on their individual the Art Education (AE) subject. The assignments were aimed to be imaginative and innovative in their structures, so that the pupils develop interest and experience joy while engaging in them.
The activity titled ‘Anubhooti’, conducted by the Music Vocal and Western Vocal AE required the students to sing an inspirational song using either karaoke or their own instruments. The video of their performance had to be sent as their entries. Among the several themes on which the students could create their poster, one was on promoting the use of AYUSH measures. The task titled ‘Drum Set’, under the Instrumental Music/ Band group, required the students to make a drum set using plates and other steel utensils. They could send the video of themselves playing this drum set. The Sculpture AE encouraged the students to make carvings on soap, with logos on Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The students belonging to the Dance AE sent in videos of their performance on the theme of ‘School to College Journey’ or a semi-classical piece.
In order to keep the zeal high and the spirit undefeated, a Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to each participant. These tasks appeared to be immensely engaging and enriching for the pupils, as they took part in the event with impressive zest. The conviction displayed by the youngsters made the Art@Thon week hugely successful. They expressed their desire to engage in more such exciting tasks in the days to come.
