INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS- JUNIOR SCHOOL
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” rightly said by Mahatama Gandhi goes well with this year’s theme of 74th Independence day, saluting the Covid Warriors and being Atma Nirbhar. Junior Wing of TAFS celebrated India’s Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on digital platform. The teachers spoke to the children about the importance of being self reliant and showing gratitude towards medical teams working worldwide in this time of pandemic. A lot of art and craft activities, dance, music, role play, poem recitation etc were organised for children.
The young kindergarteners and class I children loved enchanting ‘I Love India’ while proudly boasting their tricolor headbands and wristbands in their online classes. Class I also took a pledge to strive towards keeping the country clean and green. To instill a feeling of patriotism and to make the children become aware of the innumerable sacrifices made by our great leaders, Class II organized a fancy dress and role play activity. Children dressed up as great freedom fighters – Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Subash Chandra Bose, etc. recited their famous slogans spreading the message of peace, non violence and love for the nation.
Class III children made badges in tricolor and proudly sported them on their chest for the whole week to mark respect and recognition for all our freedom fighters. Students of Class IV actively participated in an online dance competition on the theme of patriotism and their performances glorified our independence, our culture, bravery and traditions.
Class V participated in Hindi poem recitation competition and expressed their love and respect for the nation in the most simple, beautiful, impressive and widely effective way of saying things. The students came up with different poems on the themes, 'Deshbhakti', our country, farmers and soldiers, our progress and development etc and recited their chosen poems with great fondness and zeal for the country.
The students of all the classes of Junior Wing learned and sang a medley of patriotic songs taught to them by their music teacher. They also enjoyed learning a beautiful dance full of energy on patriotic songs along with the dance teacher. Children of classes III-V also made posters and displayed them on a dedicated Independence wall in their homes and decorated it using tricolor streamers and kites to add on to the festive spirit.
The pandemic didn't wane the enthusiasm of the young TAFSians in the celebration of our national festival, Independence Day 2020, with great gusto!
