FUN WITH STICK PUPPETS - UKG ACTIVITY

FUN WITH STICK PUPPETS - UKG ACTIVITY (17 NOV 2021)

Puppet play is a fun way for children to explore strong feelings and learn good ways to manage them.

Strong emotions like anxiety, anger and worry can be hard for  children to understand and talk about. Exploring and expressing these strong emotions through the character of a puppet can help  the child  learn  to manage emotions better.

A virtual stick puppet activity was organised for our youngest TAFSians on Tuesday, 16 Nov ‘21. The teachers narrated stories using their handmade stick puppets. The kindergartners enjoyed this Stick Puppet making activity  and thereby narrated stories based on the characters created by them. It not only enhanced their communication skills but also their body mind coordination. They also sang rhymes for the characters in their stories. It was fun watching the little ones flaunt their  creative ideas through their very own stick puppets.

                    ORIGAMI ACTIVITIES- CLASSES UKG-2

                    ORIGAMI ACTIVITIES- CLASSES UKG-2 (25-29 OCT. 2021)

“Origami is a metamorphic art form, you got that piece of paper, you don’t add to it you don’t take away from it, you CHANGE it.”

                    –Micheal Lafosse

We at TAFS continuously integrate activities that stimulate holistic learning. Origami is one art form which helps this objective greatly.

TAFS Junior wing too organized origami activities for the students of classes UKG to 2 from 25 Oct – 29 Oct. 2021. Our little TAFSians revealed both the artists and the engineers within them through this folding activity!

Class UKG made colourful Origami paper fish. Kids had lots of fun folding this easy origami fish and drawing in its eyes.

Class 1 enjoyed the activity “My faithful Dog”. They made the dog with floppy ears and loved making its eyes and mouth using sketch pens.

Class 2 kids made a splash and had a whale of time making these adorable Origami whales and also learnt few facts about them.

Origami provided our little ones with wonderful “schematic learning through repeatable actions”. As the teachers demonstrated, children watched closely and listened carefully to the specific instructions and then carried them with originality, neatness and accuracy.

The paper folding craft was not only a fun filled experience, but it also proved to be a valuable means to develop artistic skills in the young ones.

A lot of learning had happened just by doing!
