Cyber Safety Week : “Be aware, Connect with Care”

Cyber Safety Week : “Be aware, Connect with Care”

The Computer Department of The Air Force School, Subroto Park organised the “CYBER SAFETY WEEK” (12th -16th April 2021) to help the students stay safe in the virtual world.

As cyberspace invades almost all areas of modern-day living, playing, and working, it is becoming more important that we understand its technical and political underpinnings and operations, as well as its capabilities, threats, and weaknesses.

The Internet is without a doubt one of the best resources available to us. Unfortunately, it is also extremely dangerous if we are not aware of who and what looks behind the scene.

The entire week was full of activities for related to cyber safety.

The activities undertaken during the week were Slogan Writing, Poster Making, Report Writing, Brochure and PPT Making. The students of all classes participated in all the activities with great zeal and enthusiasm.

    EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS- JUNIOR SCHOOL

    EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS- JUNIOR SCHOOL

The world earth day is celebrated each year on 22nd of April since the year of its inception, 1970.It is celebrated to recognize the importance of planet Earth and the need for its protection. TAFS, Jr Wing celebrates this day every year to create awareness amongst children so that they can shoulder the responsibility of taking care of our planet when they grow up. The virtual celebrations through various activities were enjoyed by children with great interest and enthusiasm on 19 & 20 April 2021.

Children of class 2 did an activity “I Love my Earth ” to show their devotion and dedication towards mother Earth. The children happily took an oath to keep our Earth safe and secure for the future generations. Class 3 did “Happy Earth” activity based on 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' by identifying things that will make our mother Earth happy and actions and things that will make it unhappy. The students of classes 4 & 5 promised to hug a nearby tree or a plant and to quietly say thank you to it. They also took this opportunity to feed birds by making bird water feeders and food feeders using waste materials to let the birds escape the hot summers. Children collected information about the trees around them  like their flowering season, fruit etc. and quietly observed the animal activities on those trees and made notes.

All children of TAFS, Junior Wing followed this year’s theme of “Restore Our Earth” and made a commitment with themselves to save and serve the Earth through their words and actions.

LEMONADE PARTY AT HOME- CLASS UKG (15.04.2021)

The new kindergartners of TAFS enjoyed their first fun activity of the academic session, on 15 April 2021, with lemonade drinks shared with their class mates as well as their family!

To introduce the sweet & sour taste to the tiny tots and to show the process of making this healthy immunity booster drink instantly an online lemonade party was organised for kindergarteners. The class demonstration of how to prepare lemonade by stirring sugar and salt in the water followed by squeezing of lemon into it, was enjoyed by them. To enhance the taste the children were encouraged to add mint leaves and black salt to it. It was later on relished by all children.

The idea behind the activity was to make little ones understand the importance of drinking lemonade in summers rather than other unhealthy beverages available.

It was a fun filled and a refreshing activity which the kids enjoyed with their family. The teacher also facilitated a class discussion on healthy eating habits and the importance of following a healthy lifestyle by taking a balanced diet, regular physical exercise and taking proper rest.

          ENGLISH CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION (CLASSES II-V)

          ENGLISH CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION (CLASSES II-V)

"Your handwriting is your self-portrait"- Chuck Palahniuk

Handwriting is a very important skill and a vital exercise for students to develop fine motor skills and confidence. It activates the brain and helps in reading fluency too. Beautiful handwriting makes an impression on the reader. It’s rightly said that our handwriting reflects our personality.

The technological era and the prevailing pandemic has brought about a ‘handwriting crisis’ where most of the students favour keyboard proficiency to handwriting skills. In order to instill the importance of good handwriting and to encourage the students to present the content in a correct manner thereby improving their presentation skills an English Calligraphy Competition was organised for classes 2 to 5 from 12 to 14 April 2021.

Students took part in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm. Majority of students creatively exhibited their free hand writing through different styles of fonts. The Calligraphy was judged on the basis of writing style, curves, legibility, and correctness of spellings, punctuation, neatness & presentation.

          The results are as follows:
