MILK DAY CELEBRATIONS- JUNIOR SCHOOL

MILK DAY CELEBRATIONS-  JUNIOR SCHOOL (26 Nov 2022)

To mark the National Milk Day, on November 26th, TAFS Junior Wing celebrated it with lots of fun, learning activities, organised for them, during the whole week. This day is celebrated to commemorate Dr. Varghese Kurien's birthday who is credited with bringing about India's “white revolution” and making India the largest self-sustaining industry, the dairy farm.

During this week young TAFSians not only discussed and learned about the importance of milk in their growth but also learned to identify various milk products they eat during the day. They also expressed appreciation for their parents’ efforts in ensuring at least a glass of health, for them, every morning.

The children of UKG made cow masks and discussed about various sources of milk and the importance of not wasting it. They enjoyed some 'Moo....' songs to add to the fun!

Class 1 children made their head gear of abundant milk products, as an art and craft activity. They talked about their favourite milk products, why they liked it and proudly wore their head gears during the day.

The students of class 2 flaunted their tiffin with numerous milk products, that their parents had packed for them.  They enthusiastically spoke about the dishes like milk cakes, paneer sandwiches and other mouth watering and healthy recipes. Teachers took this opportunity to introduce them to several body building food items.

The objective of this celebration was to create awareness about health and importance of calcium in their growing years and development of language skills.

National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas)

India is a secular country with diversified cultures, religions and languages. As an endeavour to build the bond of oneness and unity, our country celebrates the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) since 2014. Sardar Patel played a major role in the integration of India (Ek Bharat) from over 560 princely states. To acknowledge his efforts in uniting the country, India celebrates National Unity Day on his birth anniversary.

In line with the countrywide celebrations, various activities were organized from 29 Oct - 31 Oct 22 in school premises to promote unity in diversity and celebrate “National Unity Day”.

                          • The tiny tots of classes UKG-II dressed in various colourful costumes showcased the varied culture of our country, in turn giving a message of ‘Unity in Diversity’.
                          • The students of classes III-V took a pledge to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and made the posters to commemorate the spirit of unification imbibed with the vision and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The idea was to infuse the young minds of future generation with values and knowledge about the country’s rich heritage.
