Independence Day Celebrations by Junior Wing

Independence Day Celebrations by Junior Wing

As part of the 68th Independence Day celebrations, the Junior Wing presented a mélange of patriotic activities on 13 Aug 2014, which created an atmosphere of national pride.

Class ll students dressed as our great national heroes of yesteryears like Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Rani Lakshmi Bai reminded us of their role in the independence of our country. They also highlighted the contribution of great maestros from the field of science and technology, sports, music, dance, mountaineering etc. whose work helped our country to make great progress. Thus APJ Abdul Kalam, Bachhendri Pal, Kalpana Chawla, Milkha Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and many more such heroes wowed the audience with their patriotic fervour.

To keep alive the flame of patriotism, the students of class V performed a contemperory dance on a medley of popular patriotic songs and the students of the choir rendered a melodious song on our ‘Tiranga’.

Students of class V also presented a Nukkad Naatak, ‘Aaj ke yug mein desh prem ka arth’. Through the couplets of our saint poets Kabir and Rahim they conveyed to our young audience the true meaning of patriotism in today’s scenario. Our duties and responsibilities, as citizens of India, require us to become the change-makers for the country’s progress. This can be achieved by keeping our surroundings clean, saving our resources like water and electricity, following traffic and other rules, inculcating a civic sense and respecting each other and the diversity of our country.

The celebrations were held in The Aravalli Hall which was decorated in tri colours and wore a festive look.
