The Quest 2018 – A two day Festival of
Arts, Science, Mathematics and IT was inaugurated today by Executive Director
Group Captain R Bhatnagar. Addressing the gathering Gp Capt Bhatnagar remarked that
there was lot to change in this country if the students decided to take up the challenge.
He said that making one’s presence felt was more important that any prize that could
be won. 28 schools of Delhi and NCR participated in a variety of events, as they
vied for the overall championship trophy. The following events took place today
:
Parliamentary Debate :The theme was Culture
of Silence. The judges for this event were Ms Syeda Asia MUN
Consultant,Co-Founder of LEARN and Mr Lakshay Talwar MUN Consultant, Pursuing
Bachelors in Political Science from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi.
Poetry for Change : Students wrote poems on topics such as Conflict, Addiction, Identity, Relationships etc followed by a spirited recital in the presence of a jury of students. The judges for the event were, Mr Aniket Basu ex Tafsian, law student and poet with Mr. Mohit Dhingra ,theatre artist and poet.
Conceptualize: A Math model making competition
that ventured into the world of Sports. The judges for this event were Ms Anita Sharma,
Principal SD Public School, Pitampura and Mr Vaibhav Mamgain, Software Developer and advisor, NTT Data Services.
Code-a-thon : A competitive programming event judged by Ms
Shaurya Gupta the Head of business
development and promotions
Shaurya Software Pvt Ltd.
Newton’s Circus : Interesting and
imaginative activities that played out Concepts of Physics judged by ex NIT
graduate Mr Vikas Yadav, expert in Robotics and mechanical science
and Mr Kshitij Bhatt, Drilling Supervisor, Shell Group.
Poster Making on Consumer Rights: The event was judged by Dr Sheetal
Kapoor, Associate Professor in Department of Commerce Kamala Nehru College and
Mr Satyaprakash founder partner of The Beach Advertising.
The first segment of Quest 2018 concluded today with the
declaration of winners of the various events.
