Science Exhibition - Junior School

SCIENCE EXHIBITION- JUNIOR SCHOOL (29 MARCH 2016)

A  Science exhibition was organized by the students of classes I-V, on Tuesday, 29 March 2016, in the school premises. The objective of this exhibition was to encourage and inculcate scientific temperament amongst students and to encourage the budding young scientists who presented many creative ideas through their exhibits such as still models, working models and experiments. Each class displayed their experiments based on different themes.

 Class I- Growing plants.

Class II- Health is Wealth,  Food pyramid and Happy Dent.

Class III- States of matter and Density.

Class IV – Alternative sources of energy and Volcanoes.

Class V – Properties of air, Water cycle, Terrarium, Purification of water, Hard water vs Soft water and Spectrum.

 The enthusiasm and hard work of the students was well appreciated by the parents, the Principal and all visitors. Cheers to the young Tafsians for putting up such an excellent show!

    Basketball Tournament for classes IV & V

    BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT  FOR CLASSES IV & V- 17-18 MARCH 2016

    A basketball tournament was organized for all sections of classes IV and V on 17 & 18 March 2016, in the junior school basketball court.  20 teams, 10 each of  girls and boys, each representing their classes, played in the tournament.

    In the boys category class VA  were declared the winners & class VD  team was the runners up. In the girls category, class VD  were  the winners and VB team  was  the runners up.

      Good Luck Party

      ‘Good Luck Party’- Farewell Programme for Class V

       

      In keeping with the tradition of wishing the class V students good luck, the students of Class IV organized a cultural programme for the Class V students on 16 March, 2016.

      The cultural programme started with a prayer followed by a rap song and a contemporary dance number by students of Class IV. They also shared their feelings of gratitude and memories of their interaction and friendship with the outgoing class V. 

      Taru Satija, the Head Girl and Aryaman Malik, the Sports Captain, in their speeches thanked their teachers for the love, affection and the rich learning experience they received from junior school. Class V students set the stage on fire with their group songs and dance performances. Ms. Deepa Krishnan, the Headmistress, advised them to always remember the values they have imbibed in junior school and strive hard to achieve success. 

      The programme culminated with the announcement of Master and Ms. Aravali Junior which were bagged by Arjun Singh of class V A  and  Sia Verma of class V B respectively.

        UKG CLASS FUNCTION

        UKG CLASS FUNCTION – 12 MARCH 2016

        The students of Class UKG of TAFS Junior Wing celebrated an Annual Cultural Bonanza, on 12th March 2016. The tiny tots of TAFS, put up a grand show for their parents in the form of a Dance Drama titled ‘Alice, the Curious Girl’. It was a beautiful depiction of Alice’s journey into the magical world and her experiences of the excitements and adventures of life.

        The show saw the participation of all children of class UKG. Dressed in bright colourful costumes they danced shaking their legs to numerous peppy tracks like ‘Bunny Dance’, ‘Crazy Frog’ and ‘Splish Splash’. The gay abundance with which they performed the contemporary dance form enthralled the audience.

        To make their journey of learning memorable and full of joy, fun and laughter, this event ended with the beautiful message of celebrating life in the form of a finale dance, ‘The more we get together, the happier we will be’. The little ones were very overwhelmed and went home with happy and unforgettable memories of their first year of schooling.

        The chief guest of the occasion, Ms. Alka Sethi, an educationist, congratulated the shining stars of TAFS for their amazing and happy performance. She laid great emphasis on the message conveyed  by them through their musical show, the message of love, peace sharing and caring, which need to be practiced by all for making this world a better place.

        Ms. Amita Gupta, the officiating Principal, congratulated the kindergartners and the teachers for the wonderful show put up by them. In her address to the parents she brought their attention to the fact that each child is special with their own strengths and capabilities. They need appreciation and encouragement to pursue their dreams.
