          UKG ENGLISH RHYME RECITATION

UKG ENGLISH RHYME RECITATION (07 SEP 2018)

Recitation of rhymes helps in the development of language skills in a big way among young children. To help our kindergartners hone their speaking and listening skills a ‘Rhyme Recitation’ activity was organized on 07 Sep 2018, at school.

Rhymes not only helps in learning phonics but also help children predict a missing word, learn more about the use of prepositions and make their own strings of rhymes during word play. This is exactly what our young TAFSians did with great confidence during this activity. With great enthusiasm, a variety of interesting rhymes like ‘Incy Wincy spider’, ‘If you’re happy, clap your hands’, ‘Old McDonald had a farm’ etc were recited by them in an impressive manner. The eye catching props like toys, cut outs, puppets etc added value to the presentation. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

CIRCULAR - FOLLOW UP ACTIVITIES (CLASSES UKG, I & II)

CIRCULAR FOR PARENTS – CLASSES UKG, I &II (FOLLOW UP ACTIVITIES)

                  Dear Parents,

As you are aware the parents form the vital link between home and school for children. Parents not only influence their children’s attitudes about learning but also help in making the school a better place for them to learn and grow. Researchers have established the fact that successful parent-teacher partnerships have resulted in improved educational outcomes for students. Keeping this purpose in mind we are planning regular ‘Follow-up Activities’ for our students of classes UKG-II, in a bid to create more opportunities for parents to involve themselves in school activities.

The basic objective of these activities is to improve the abilities and skills of students, to reinforce what they have learned at school, to develop study skills and life skills, instill a sense of discipline and responsibility and help in engaging the child with the parents while working and playing. The activities would range from observation of surroundings, visit to different places with the parents, learning a poem/ speech, collecting pictures/ objects, writing sentences, drawing pictures, practicing a song, playing a game, solving a puzzle, doing hands-on activities, practicing objective type questions etc. These activities will not only help in enhancing students' school performance but also will allow the parents to participate more in the process of their children's education.

For class UKG the follow-up activity will be mentioned in their note books/ school almanac by their teachers or through hand-outs. The activities for classes I & II will be uploaded on the school website. Please access the Homework link on tafssp.com for the ‘Follow-up Activities’ of classes I & II.

Together let’s create high standards of learning experiences for our children!

                  Warm Regards

ENGLISH POEM RECITATION COMPETITION : CLASS II

CLASS II ENGLISH POEM RECITATION COMPETITION (31 AUG 2018)

An English Poem Recitation Competition was organized for class II, on 31 Aug 2018, the theme for which was ‘Humour’.

The children expressed ‘humour’ combining it with other feelings very creatively using sounds, gestures and rhymes. The poems ranged from complex ones like ‘I know a man from Petushkee’ to simple ones like ‘Why I love recess’ & ‘The life of a cupcake’. The audience enjoyed listening to the poems as much as the young poets enjoyed reciting them. A lot was conveyed beautifully and confidently by the participants through imagination and verbal eloquence.
