Educational Excursion - The India Habitat Centre

Educational Excursion on 18 July 2016

The Airforce School Subroto Park organised an educational excursion to The India Habitat Centre for the literati Club students of classes IX and X on 18 July 2016. The students enjoyed the beautiful exhibition on Story-Telling through Graphic Novels put up by Campfire Graphic Novels.

A graphic novel is a narrative related through a sequence of images accompanied by dialogues and descriptive captions. It has the potential to make a boring and monotonous text a  more interesting and fun read for the students. CBSE also believes that this mode of narration will enable the students to develop their mental faculties of observation, imagination and creation. The exhibition was centred around the evolution of Graphic Novels and their use as a tool for 'Infotainment'.

The students found the exhibition very informative. They enjoyed the show of their favourite books with great pictures and dialogues, and looked forward for more such books.

The day began for the children with a nature walk to identify the various lemon trees in the school premises. They saw the lemons on the branches of big trees and also identified the small sweet limes on the small ornamental tree.

The little ones participated in the lemonade making with their teachers and had their lemonade drinks with their Tiffin. The health benefits and other uses of lemon were learned through videos and songs. They also danced merrily to the lemon rhymes. The day ended with an art and craft activity on lemon cut outs that brought out their creativity.
