To enhance the listening and speaking skills of the students a Story Telling Competition in Hindi was organised by class II on 30th January 2014 at TAFS Jr Wing. The young ones made everyone proud by narrating a variety of stories with great confidence and fluency. Children added value to the narration by using appropriate props and costumes. The judges appreciated the effort put in by the participants. It was indeed a funfilled and learning experience for the whole class.

A poster making competition was organized for the students of Class V on 24 January 2014. The theme of the competition was – “Remembering the Mahatma”. All  students participated enthusiastically in creating beautiful posters with slogans highlighting Gandhiji’s great principles of peace, truth, tolerance, equality and non-violence. This artistic ode to the “Father of our Nation”, on the eve of our 65^th Republic Day and Martyr’s Day (30 Jan.) was a move to refresh our memories of the “Great Soul” and pay tribute to the Mahatma.

SARV  SAHODAYA  MINI FOOTBALL  (BOYS ) TOURNAMENT 2013-14 was hosted by The Air Force School ,Subroto Park on 28^th January,2014. 12 leading schools of NCR region participated in this tournament. This sporting extravaganza saw a lot of young budding football talent.

The winners of the tournament were  Indraprastha International School. They played  DPS Gurgaon (sector-45) in the finals to clinch the championship title.

Sarv Sahodaya Basket Ball Tournament was held at Sanskriti School, Chanakya Puri on 20 Jan 2014. TAFS Junior basketball   boys’ team won the tournament to clinch the championship title. They  played  Indraprastha World School in Quarter finals, Sanskriti School in semi finals and moved onto beat D.P.S Sushant Lok in the finals bringing laurels to the school.

An enrichment program for the mathematics students of class XII was conducted on 17^th Jan 2014. The session was conducted by renowned Mathematics scholar Sh.JagdishNijhawan (formerly Principal), who has been associated with CBSE for more than two decades. He is an eminent resource person as well.

The session conducted by Sh. Nijhawan proved to be a valuable discussion before the examination. He emphasized upon the strategies that should be   followed by students while preparing forthe examination and provided some guidelines for attempting the questions in an effective manner. He discussed the marks distribution scheme of the question paper. Some Important Topics were also discussed by Sh. Nijhawan in the session to clarify the methodology to be followed by students. Throughout the session he emphasized that the students should first acquire clear conceptual understanding and then they should move on to the rigorous practice of questions. He further emphasized that students must keep NCERT as first and foremost focus while preparing for examination.

In a nutshell, program was a comprehensive and strategically important help to the students for tackling the forthcoming Board Examination.
