Air Vice Marshal R Guruhari, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Weapons) graced the function with his presence as the Chief Guest. The program aimed to convey to the studentsthat they are visionaries and seekers of this new age, and as they mould their own path, people will gravitate towards their leadership.

The function began with lighting of the lamp and reciting the Citation Prayer. The lamp was symbolic of knowledge and humility dispelling the darkness of ignorance and arrogance. In her address to the gathering, principal, Mrs. Amita Gupta Ma’am guided the students into growing with each moment and valuing their blessings. She reiterated that now that they have completed the first milestone of life, it is expected of them to be more decisive and independent in charting the course of the future.

The group song by the school choir, titled Samutkarsh, was a lyrical rendition that filled the gathering with a rush of confidence and cheer. The group dance, titled Samarpanam, was a messageof gratitude for the gurus, the teachers of TAFS, who have seen the little children grow up into competent young boys and girls.During the conferring of the citations by the respective class teachers of XII, theyexpressed their affection in the form of insightful adjectives describing their students.

An educator’s efforts bear fruit only when they are well-synched with the collaboration received from parents. Mrs. Inder Pal Kaur, parent of Head Girl, DaizelDandona and Group Captain Avinash Kushwaha, parent of Head Boy, Aditya Kushwaha shared their reflections and experiences about TAFS. They complimented the collected efforts that TAFS’s staff put in towards the development of children. English Oration Week

English Oration Week (15th January- 19th January 2024)

In today’s age of artificial intelligence, if there is one skill that differentiates us humans from the supercomputers than it is our soft skills – or ability to imagine and be creative with our ideas. Thisincludes a plethora of skills ranging from active listening to emotional intelligence to public speaking, which is something that is actively encouraged and honed over the years in our school. As part of this process, the TAFS junior wing had organized an English Oration Week between the 15th to the 19th of January 2024.

The students of class I to Class V, were asked to speak on a variety of topics ranging from class I being given the topic“I am happy when…”, where the tiny tots spoke of what gives them joy; classII narrating“What I did last Sunday” where the students spoke at length of what a Sunday looks like for them- relaxed and rejuvenating weekends, class III took the topic “I wish I were...”  a powerful incantation into the realm of imagination and self-discovery, inviting the children to confront their deepest desires;to class IV students taking up the all too familiar question what do you what to be when you grow up, in the form of the title - “I aspire to become an actor / scientist/ doctor/ teacher …” , the mention of incidents that inspired them to choose a particular profession made the oration even more engrossing and impactful and class V chose a topic close to a reader’s heart - “My library Book”- thereby emphasizing the importance of reading and the benefits of making it a regular habit in one’s life. Reading is like breathing, it continues throughout our life.

The students participated in this event with great enthusiasm, expressing their ideas with clarity and confidence. While for the young ones,it was held as a non-competitive event, for the higher classes – class III to V, winners were selected. The deliveries were very engaging and brought new insights on the given topics. The well thought out oration held the attention of the audience for the complete event.  The judges were delighted and highly impressed with the student’s oratory skills and were left just a bit confused when selecting the final winners! The evaluating parameters where that of – content, pronunciation, expression/ presentation/ confidence.
