Air Marshal R K Anand VSMAir Officer-in-Charge Administration, Chairman, Board of Governors visited The Air Force School on 5 February 2024.He was received by Air Vice Marshal Rajeev Sharma VSM, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Education), Air Cmde Harjit S Sidana VSM, Chairman Managing Committee, AF Schools, Wg. Cdr Manoj Kumar Yadav Executive Director, TAFS and Principal Mrs Amita Gupta.
Air Marshal Anand viewed snapshots of achievements as Mrs. Amita Gupta made a presentation. The presentation encapsulateda brief history of the school, the present infrastructure, the upgradations of infrastructure in the past one year, the future projections for development and the academic and co- curricular achievements of TAFSians. In the comprehensive and insight giving session Mrs Amita Gupta described the successes achieved by our students in competitive exams like NEET and FITJEE. The illustrious Alumni of TAFS and name they have made for themselves which were among the many laurels that TAFS has achieved. Subsequently,Air Marshal Anand toured the school, visiting various areas like the classrooms, the computer lab, the Chemistry Lab, the AV room, the library, the Basket Ball court, the Boarding House, the Art Block , the play grounds and play areas of the senior and junior school. He also toured the junior school building.
On visiting the newly refurbished state- of- the -art library Air Marshal Anand expressed his desire to see students become readers and writers, emphasising that budding writers should be publicised and encouraged. He interacted with the school band and commended their performance.
Sir laid down his philosophy for the school which included activities to foster student learning through experiencing the functional elements of knowledge. He believed that Academics was important, but rather than setting the goal of perfection in results, teachers must encourage the process of learning. Sports played an important role in grooming students towards becoming responsible citizens of the country. Every student must be provided psychological support so that attending school becomes a joyful and fulfilling experience. He expressed his desire that the boarding house students be provided special care and nurturing. Thus, Air Marshal Anand laid down his vision of vibrant, emotionally and physically sound TAFSIANS whose talents would be spotted and nurtured in a wholesome environment.
