CITATION CEREMONY (31 JANUARY 2024)
On 31 January 2024, The Air Force School celebrated the Citation Ceremony for the outgoing batch of Class XII (2023-24), in the Aravali Hall. Air Vice Marshal R Guruhari, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Weapons) graced the function with his presence as the Chief Guest.The program aimed to convey to the studentsthat they are visionaries and seekers of this new age, and as they mould their own path, people will gravitate towards their leadership.
The function began with lighting of the lamp and reciting the Citation Prayer. The lamp was symbolic of knowledge and humility dispelling the darkness of ignorance and arrogance. The prayer invoked the blessings of the Almighty so that grace can be the students’ guide, confidence be their foundation, and hope be their compass.
In her address to the gathering, principal, Mrs. Amita Gupta Ma’am guided the students into growing with each moment and valuing their blessings. She reiterated that now that they have completed the first milestone of life, it is expected of them to be more decisive and independent in charting the course of the future.
The group song by the school choir, titled Samutkarsh, was a lyrical rendition that filled the gathering with a rush of confidence and cheer. The group dance, titled Samarpanam, was a messageof gratitude for the gurus, the teachers of TAFS, who have seen the little children grow up into competent young boys and girls.During the conferring of the citations by the respective class teachers of XII, theyexpressed their affection in the form of insightful adjectives describing their students.
An educator’s efforts bear fruit only when they are well-synched with the collaboration received from parents. Mrs. Inder Pal Kaur, parent of Head Girl, DaizelDandona and Group Captain Avinash Kushwaha, parent of Head Boy, Aditya Kushwaha shared their reflections and experiences about TAFS. They complimented the collected efforts that TAFS’s staff put in towards the development of children. A motion picturethat gave us a glimpse of the memories that our students had made over their years at this institution, was also run.
During his address to the audience, chief guest AVM R Guruharishared his wisdom and message. He said that rights and responsibilities go together, in the making of an individual. He reminded us of Swami Vivekananda’s vision to “arise, awake and not stop till the goal is reached.”
Vice-principal, Mrs. Lomina Rajiv, delivered the vote of thanks. The function ended with the Air Force School Song.
As great adventures await them, and as they move out from the safety and comfort of the known environment of the school to the joys of greater freedom and more responsibilities, TAFS wishes the Class XII students the very best.
